Yasuyuki Goto, PhD

Scientist I

Yasuyuki Goto was born in Miyazaki, Japan. He obtained a BSc from University of Tokyo in 1999. His postgraduate studies were performed at the School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, University of Tokyo. During his postgraduate period his interests were focused on parasitic diseases such as leishmania and malaria. His PhD thesis, entitled "Studies on innate immunity in the pathogenesis of cutaneous leishmaniasis," was completed in March 2004. In April 2004 Yasuyuki joined IDRI as a Postdoctoral scientist.

Yasuyuki is currently working toward the development of vaccines, diagnostics, and immunotherapeutics against leishmaniasis, a project funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.
