David J. Maki
Treasurer
David Maki has served on IDRI’s Board of Directors since July of 2005, and was appointed Treasurer of the Board in November of 2008. David has been involved in life science organizations for almost 30 years and co-founded Altitude Life Science Ventures, a venture capital firm which seeks to identify and support early stage life science companies. Prior to founding Altitude, he served as a Principal with Perennial Ventures, and as a Vice President with Tredegar Investments. David previously spent almost two decades in intellectual property law at Seed IP Law group, focusing on IP strategic planning for healthcare companies. He served as the senior partner within the firm’s biotechnology group, which represented more than 60 life science companies, and also held the positions of Managing Partner and Financial Partner. David is known as an industry expert in the development and execution of intellectual property strategies in the healthcare sector. He has served as a Board member for a number of healthcare companies, and on the Washington Biotechnology Advisory Committee. He has a BS in Biology from Carroll College with a graduate educational emphasis in molecular biology, and holds a JD from the Northwestern School of Law (Portland, OR).
