Ajay Bhatia, PhD
Senior Scientist/PI
Ajay Bhatia joined IDRI in November 2006 as a senior scientist. Ajay leads the molecular biology group at IDRI and his research interests are focused on antigen discovery, diagnostics and vaccine development for Leishmaniasis, tuberculosis and leprosy. Ajay graduated from University of Delhi and did his post-graduate work at the Indian Institute of technology-Kharagpur. He obtained his PhD in Molecular biology from the University of Calgary in 1996 and pursued post-doctoral training at IDRI with Dr. Steven Reed. Ajay joined Corixa Corporation in 1998 and led the molecular biology efforts for various vaccine programs until 2006.
