Jessica Cohen, JD

Associate General Counsel

Jessica Cohen joined IDRI in May 2006 as a summer law intern and began working at IDRI full time after graduating from Seattle University School of Law in May 2007. She is licensed to practice law in Washington and is a member of the Washington State Bar Association. In law school she served as an Article Editor for the Seattle Journal for Social Justice, participated in the Arts Legal Clinic advising artist clients on various legal issues, and published two law review articles. Originally from North Carolina, she graduated from Smith College in Massachusetts with a BA in Political Science and Latin American Studies. 
Jessica has worked for non-profit organizations since 2000. Prior experiences include working for an anti-hunger and food rescue organization (D.C. Central Kitchen) and providing research and consulting services to increase attorneys’ participation in pro bono work (Pro Bono Institute). Additionally, Jessica serves on the board of directors of Technically Learning and volunteers as a pro bono attorney with Northwest Immigrants Rights Project (NWIRP). Jessica is proficient in Spanish and has a basic understanding of Hebrew.
