Research and development at IDRI starts with identifying early scientific leads for vaccines, diagnostics, and therapeutics.
Our scientists actively publish their research in leading journals. Click here to view IDRI's Publication List as a pdf.
Working closely with industry, universities, hospitals, government and private funding agencies, and the World Health Organization, we aim to develop products that can be made in the countries that most need them.
R&D News
- IDRI has developed the first defined vaccine for leishmaniasis. We have successfully completed studies in the USA, Colombia, Brazil, Peru and India. A Phase 2 study is ongoing in Venezuela and new studies are planned in Peru and the Sudan.

Our team was instrumental in the discovery and early evaluation of the first protein-based TB vaccine candidate which development continues to successfully progress. We are now working on a next generation vaccine. IDRI is a member of the Lilly TB Drug Discovery Initiative, a unique public-private partnership dedicated to accelerating early-stage TB drug discovery.
