Mark your calendar for Saturday, Sept. 22, when IDRI will be taking part in Global Washington’s GlobalFest 2012: Stand for Girls which will celebrate the achievements of women worldwide and the innovations of our state’s global health organizations. You’ll learn how we are working to ensure the health of mothers and children around the world.

As part of the GlobalFest activities, IDRI CEO Stewart Parker will take part in a panel discussion featuring women leaders discussing their experiences and offering advice to young women who want a career in global health/development. Called “World-Changing Women: Inspiring Women Leaders Who are Making a Difference,” the panel will take place in Conference Room B from noon-1 p.m.

And, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in Conference Room A, Andre Nellams, IDRI HR Manager, will engage in a discussion about careers in global health/development. This conversation will focus on the types of experiences and education employers in this field are seeking, as well as advice on resumes, cover letters and interview skills.
