World TB Day Event
Thursday, 24, 2016
Seattle Public Library
Microsoft Auditorium – Level 1
1000 Fourth Avenue, Seattle, WA
World TB Day is designed to build public awareness that tuberculosis today remains an epidemic in much of the world, causing the deaths of nearly one-and-a-half million people each year, mostly in developing countries. More than one-third of the world’s population is infected with TB, including people here in Washington state.
Enrique Cerna of KCTS 9 will lead a discussion of local tuberculosis experts, including representatives from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Washington State Department of Health.
IDRI is a sponsor of the event and members of IDRI’s TB team will host an interactive exhibit.
