IDRI’s unique culture is formed by a mutual belief in our mission: applying innovative science to develop products to eliminate infectious diseases of global importance. We value keen minds, compassionate hearts and entrepreneurial spirits. And, team work is a key part of our culture – we work together, side-by-side, every day toward our mission.

And, while we take our science seriously, we stop along the way to enjoy ourselves – from an annual picnic to a yearly holiday party to potluck social hours.

We also believe in taking part in the community. IDRI scientists often volunteer at various scientific educational events – like the annual Life Sciences Research Weekend – as they help engage and develop the next generation of scientists who will follow in their footsteps.

Inspiring our young to become the next generation of scientists is both exciting and rewarding…the discoveries they make in science and medicine will pave the way of humanity’s future. I’m glad IDRI offers me the opportunity to do this.” – David Roberts

IDRI’s 125+ employees come from around the world and across the U.S. to work together in Seattle, an up-and-coming hub for global health. Being able to collaborate and work in close proximity with researchers from other like-minded organizations, as well as a number of leading biotech and life sciences companies, is appealing to our scientists.

But equally appealing is Seattle itself. A diverse and vibrant city, Seattle is has given birth to such diverse industries as aerospace and software, and is now a leader in global health. Surrounded by mountains and water, Seattle offers a high level of quality for both work and play.

A variety of outdoor activities – skiing, hiking, climbing, cycling, camping, fishing and boating, to name just a few – are accessible virtually year-round, due to Seattle’s moderate climate. The city also offers a vibrant arts and entertainment scene, with a world-class symphony and art museum leading the pack.
